I regret trekking from Lagos to Abuja for Buhari – Hashimu Suleiman

One of the men who trekked from Lagos to Abuja over Buhari's victory in 2015 presidential election,Hashimu Suleiman, has described his action as a very big mistake for the president to remove fuel subsidy which has made life unbearable and miserable for the masses.

The man expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the president has been ruling Nigeria in the last one year.
He was quoted as saying, “Removing fuel subsidy at this hard time is not palatable to hear, when so many workers and labourers can hardly put food on their table, many companies have folded up, and cost of living is very high.

“Nigerians have been hoping for a positive change for a very long time, enduring hardship and now the Federal government wants to make things worse for the masses.”

I can vouch for Buhari "He will NOT steal"- Bola Tinubu

Apex leader of All Progressives Congress (APC),Bola Tinubu, says he can swear for President Muhammadu Buhari in the management of the Nigeria's economy.

He disclosed this while Speaking at the headquarters of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Friday. He said Buhari is very honest and straightforward.

“I cannot say, I’m a part of the decision that created the situation. I can only say I noticed the communication gap. And I cannot say you are enemies of this government,” he told the executive of the congress‎.

“‎Today, we came here to appeal to you. Go back to history, we worked real hard to bring Nigeria on progressive path. For me a progressive government is all about the welfare of the people.

“Mr president, the former president of NLC, and senators are here to make it clear that you are not an enemy of a government that is progressive.

“We have refineries, but they are not serving our people. Is it benefiting the public? Why should we continue problem after problem, and continue to do the same things over and over again.

“We must try new things. I’m here to appeal to you to understand this government. You brought this government in. If change is our slogan, are we collaborating to make it possible?

“This is by the way, we must introduce history‎… the political history of the country is not being taught in schools anymore.

“In good conscience, many of you who are part of genuine labour struggle know is about progress and not cheap oil.

‎”We are shipping our labour, oil and opportunities abroad, which is not good for the country.

“Buhari is straightforward. We didn’t say we won’t have problems with him, but he has integrity.

“They brought in SURE-P, but the only thing about SURE-P is corruption.‎ It was sure stealing, sure diversion….

“Buhari will listen to us‎, we will work together to make this change possible.

“I can swear that Buhari will not touch a penny for personal gain. He has that character and integrity to steer Nigeria.

“Let us look at a new mechanism of doing things.

“Let us work together for a government that we know is honest. My mission here is for peace, for us to return to the negotiating table.

“Let us build Nigeria, let us make it the centre piece of Africa.

“Let us call off this strike. I c‎ome to beg on behalf of my party.”

Heather Whitten gives the real reason she shared "father holding his son in the shower" photo that was brought down by facebook

Heather Whitten,a photographer in Arizona in the USA,shared the reason she posted this photo and her son Fox and husband that went Viral which made facebook to take it down saying it was inappropriate and did not conform with their policy.

"Thomas had spent hours in the shower with him, trying to keep his fever down and letting the vomit and diarrhea rinse off of them both as it came," Whitten wrote in her post accompanying the photo.

"He was so patient and so loving and so strong with our tiny son in his lap... I stepped out and grabbed my camera and came back to snap a few images of it and, of course shared them."

Whitten has been surprised by this reaction and was shocked when people posted negative comments about what was for her a beautiful moment.

"There is nothing sexual or exploitative about this image," she wrote in the initial post. "I was taken aback by how many people missed the story or didn't even look past the nudity to find the story."

Presidency clarifies that the man who followed rescued Chibok girl to the state house in not her husband but her brother

The President issued a statement to clarify that the man who accompanied the rescued Chibok girl is his brother and not his husband as being speculated by some quarters. The statement below,

"Our attention has been drawn to rumours and insinuations that the young man who accompanied Amina Ali to the State House to meet President Buhari is her alleged terrorist abductor.

This is false; there is absolutely no truth to it. The young man who was in the State House (extreme left, in the photograph below) alongside Amina and her baby and mother, is her older brother.

He is different from the man who appeared with her in photos released by the Nigerian military, in the immediate aftermath of Amina's rescue.

All insinuations alleging otherwise are false, mischievous, and should be wholly disregarded.

Under no circumstances will a presidential welcome be extended to terrorists or abductors."

We made faster progress against Boko Haram when we curbed corruption in the Military- President Buhari

Press statement from the state house Aso Rock,Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari said Wednesday in Abuja that corruption was largely responsible for the inability of the Nigerian military to quickly defeat Boko Haram.

Speaking at an audience with the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, President Buhari said that the loss of 14 local government areas to Boko Haram had greatly tarnished the reputation of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The President noted, however, that with measures taken by his Administration to curb corruption and provide better weaponry, logistics, training and welfare for soldiers on the frontlines, the Nigerian military has now almost totally incapacitated Boko Haram as a fighting force and recovered all territories that were lost to the terrorist sect.

"When we curbed corruption and removed the injustice in the military, we began to make progress," President Buhari said.

Welcoming the support of Muslims across the world for Nigeria's war against Boko Haram, the President said that the war against terrorism was also a war against injustice, which is not condoned by Islam and all the major religions.

"You can't kill the innocent in churches or in mosques and shout Allahu Akbar," President Buhari said, adding that the visit of Dr. El-Tayeb and his expression of solidarity with Nigeria in the war against terrorism was a clear indication of global Muslim support for Nigeria against the unjust killing of the innocent by terrorists.

The President, who reaffirmed his Administration's determination to resettle all persons who were displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency, thanked the Grand Imam for the donation of scholarships, educational and medical supplies to Nigeria's Internally Displaced Persons.

Dr. El-Tayeb told President Buhari that Muslims all over the world share Nigeria's pains from terrorism and will continue to support efforts to ensure the return of peace and unity amongst all faiths in the country.
