Senate plans to pass JAMB Bill to allow JAMB results be valid for up to 3 years
President of the Senate,Bukola Saraki,disclosed that the Senate plans to pass JAMB Bill to allow JAMB results be valid for up to 3 years.This is a right step in a right direction.He disclosed through his instagram page where he wrote,
"It gives me great joy to announce that today at the Senate, we passed for Second Reading a Bill to amend the #JAMBBill. When finally amended, this piece of legislation will ensure that the JAMB results of students will be valid for up to 3 years — as opposed to the current 1 year validity period.
"The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has been saddled with the responsibility of ushering in young school leavers into tertiary institutions for many years.
"However, due to several factors, hundreds of thousands of candidates that sit JAMB exams and do not secure their admission into higher institutions in the same year have to sit for the same exam the next year. This is unacceptable.
"It is our hope at the 8th Senate that this amendment will go a long way in reducing the financial constraints on parents, and the psychological burdens on students who have secured pass marks but are unable to gain admission in the same year."

Senate President Saraki’s trial adjourned ‘indefinitely’
The Code of Conduct Tribunal today Wednesday,adjourned the trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, indefinitely, after a star witness for the prosecution failed to show up at the court.His reason was that the court needed time to hear other cases.Which cases????
Senator Bukola Saraki's trial was on May 25 adjourned till Wednesday, for the cross-examination of the witness, Michael Wetkas, to continue.

Another Peace Mass Transit bus crashes but no lives were lost.
A passenger with a peace mass transit bus that had accident narrates what happened and thanks God for saving them.
Nwokoye Izuchukwu took to facebook to share the story.
"Pls my dear brothers and sisters, we all should be very careful with Peace mass transit drivers. What happened to us this evening was a big lesson to me. The driver attempted making a call. I shouted at him several times demanding that he dropped the phone. Within a minute or two a camry entered our front and because the driver was not really concentrating he lost control of the bus and ran into a ditch. He had enough space to break n control his bus but couldn't because he was almost absent minded. We give God all the glory."

Police Boss Solomon Arase condems killing of policemen by IPOB orders disarmament of IPOB activist

INSPECTOR-GENERAL OF POLICE ORDERS DISARMAMENT OF IPOB ACTIVISTS
· Condemns the killing of Policemen by IPOB
Following the manifestation of the disposition of the armed Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) activists to undertake premeditated attacks on Police officers engage in operations aimed at restoring public order in States in the South-East and South-South geopolitical zone of the country, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, fdc, NPM has directed the Assistant Inspectors General of Police and the Commissioners of Police in the affected area to disarm members of the group operating firearms immediately.
The IGP noted that the targeted attacks on Police personnel, who have been performing their statutory functions in the most professional and civil manner since the latest resurgence disorder, portrays the IPOB activists who are orchestrating the insurrection as having crossed the threshold in their misguided attempt to test the common will of the nation.
IGP Arase, while condemning the killing by members of IPOB, also directed the arrest of any member of the group found in possession of firearm and bring him/her to deserved justice, while all IPOB activists arrested in connection with the killing of the Policemen should be charged to court for murder.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force will continue to diligently work towards eliminating any threat to internal security and assures Nigerians of its commitment to their safety and security.
