Press statement;
Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, has called for synergy between the Commission and the Association of Chief Audit Executives of Banks in tackling corruption in Nigeria.
Magu made this call on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 while playing host to members of the Association of Chief Audit Executives of Banks in Nigeria, ACAEBIN, who paid him a courtesy visit at the Commission's Head office, Abuja.
According to the anti graft czar, "we are all stake holders as far as the anti graft war is concerned. Therefore, we must find a way to work together as both auditors and investigators do the same thing.”
He assured the Association of his readiness to support its work even beyond the corridors of banks.
Earlier, Chairman of the Association, Ajobola Dawodu commended the Commission for its current efforts in the fight against corruption.
He requested for the Commission’s intervention in the areas of capacity building, creating effective liaison at its zonal offices and helping to track fraud suspects who jumped ship.
According to him, “the Association meets quarterly and it will be nice to have a representative of EFCC join them, as a way to foster relationship and strengthen the fight against corruption
Other members of the Association on the visit were: Udochi Nwaodu, Vice Chairman; Uduak N Udoh, Treasurer; Many Ugbomah; Mathias T. Sendane and Okafor Obiora Patrick.
