Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil to play with new football boots without laces

Arsenal Midfielder Mesut Ozil will return to playing wearing laceless football boots which he considers 'a dream come true' because he feels it will improve his first skills and touches on balls.
The boot is called the Adidas Ace 16+ Purecontrol. In an interview with Ozil he stated that,

'I always used to have the same ritual before every game where I make only knots with the laces instead of tying them in the traditional way, and then tuck them in,' Ozil said.

'I think that if you tie your laces in the traditional way it’s harder to control the ball as the surface area is not flat.

'I’ve tried my whole career to minimize the impact of laces on my game. To have a laceless boot is a dream come true.

'I revealed to Adidas in 2014 that in the changing room I knot the laces over and over again and then tuck in the ends, that way they do not interfere with my touch.

'I cannot wait to wear them on the pitch.'

Those to wear the same boot with Ozil are Barcelona and Croatia play-maker Ivan Rakitic and Chelsea's attacking midfielder Oscar. We are waiting to see them play with the boot and to compare their performance with the laced boots and laceless boots.
