The Lagos state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode have stated that all street gates and barricades should be kept open until 12 midnight and even if it is locked after 12 midnight that security guards should be at the gates to open them in case of emergency.Failure to adhere to this order will warrant the state government to pull down the street gate completely.His words.
"We are concerned by the disturbing trend of closure of street gates across the State. Yesterday, we ordered immediate re-opening of all street gates and barricades in the nook and cranny of the State between 5am and 12 midnight daily, defaulting streets would have their gates pulled down within the next seven days. Street gates and barricades are only permitted to be locked between 12mid-night and 5am, besides such locked gates must be manned by security guards within the period under lock and key in case of emergencies."
