Sports minister Barrister Solomon Dalung took to his facebook page to congratulate Nigeria's under 23 team for winning their match against Japan .

"I heartily congratulate the National U-23 football team for their outstanding 5-4 victory over Japan in their opening Group B game.

The Dream Team VI not only showed resilience in the face of adversity but demonstrated patriotism, team work and the CAN DO SPIRIT that Nigerians are known for globally.
I urge them to put aside all that happened in Atlanta and focus on the challenges ahead.
